Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

June 22, 2012

Tonight I went to go see Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. Normally seeing Steve Carrell in a movie about the end of the world I would assume it would be a really funny comedy with alot of one liners and awkward scenes which is what the Trailer made this movie out to be but this movie was far from that. I would classify this as a Romantic Disaster Comedy as it provides a few good scenes and one liners but turns out to be this strange mellow dramatic love story that takes place during the last days of the world. The beginning is a really good set up to this movie because nobody cares and everyone seems to just want to do everything they have never been able to do except Steve Carrells character who is just really really boring and it doesn’t make any sense to put in Keira Knightley into this story as their combo just comes off as awkward and not believable. The cast in the beginning and on some of the road trip are the only watchable parts of this movie but if you like romantic comedies than you might wanna give this one a shot but otherwise this is a skip.
