The Lucky One

April 16, 2012

I went to a screening of The Lucky One tonight. This movie is the latest book by Nicholas Sparks to be made into a movie and even though I am not that much of a fan of chick flicks I would say this one translated best into a movie or atleast was done much better than any of it’s predecessors. I don’t care much for Zac Efron but he fits the lead role extremely well of a Ex-Marine who can’t seem to find himself after going through alot of close calls but was saved when he found a picture who became his guardian angel. Taylor Schilling is does an ok job as the guardian angel/troubled single mother and she seems to struggle in the role and comes off as more of someone with no voice at all. The rest of the cast fits well with the story and you forget your watching a chick flick at times and it becomes a solid drama with some very light hearted and funny moments that help make this film worth watching. I recommend this movie. You can call it a date movie but you can go with just about anyone and watch this movie.
